December 2010 Holiday Club

The team from Port Elizabeth and the Mulenga Family

We praise the Lord for the fantastic time we had in December with about 180 orphan Children. We thank you for your prayers and support for the holiday club, we truly had a blessed time. For five days the kids forgot all about their problems, sickness and hardship of life and had time to just have fun and learn from Gods word. This holiday club has become one of the most important events on our yearly planner. Continue praying for these children so that they may grow up knowing our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Here are a few pictures taken from the five days. Be blessed.

How Great Is Our God

The young and the old can worship together. the old need the young and young need the old. We are the salt of Machava in Maputo says the young.

Shula wonders if some one says he loves our Lord Jesus and yet he has nothing to do with less privileged children. She would like a project that would support the orphan who are under the care of the local church.

We are thankful to the Lord for the team of volunteers who gave themselves to serve the children. They demonstrated love and care for the children, some cried with the children. The team composed of five nations, 3 were from the R. of South Africa, 1(one) from U.S.A. 4 from Zambia, 2 from U.K. and 11 from Mozambique.

After five days of running around each child went with a school bag with mathematical set, we had wished they hard a blanket as well.

170 orphans attended holiday club from 7 to 11 December 2009. Bible teaching, games, singing and parental care.

Each child was handed a T-shirt with the theme
of the holiday club on it. In total we had between 175 to 192 kids.

Breakfast and lunch were
served everyday. Breakfast
consisted of Pao(Bread) and tea.
Lunch varied from chicken and
rice to fish and salads etc...

The kitchen stuff who were
responsible for all the cooking.
I must say they did a pretty
good job!

We had games everyday. This game was called
''Banana Com'' which means Banana with.
They had to guess the flavor of the Banana which
was dipped in a ''Certain'' flavour.

One of the many games we played was, pass the potato.
This was fun to watch.

This was the best looking Mammy by
a long way. I must say its the best looking

game.

but everyone is a winner right. So all the kids got a

backpack with toiletries and the older ones got math sets to go with the backpacks.

The team that made this all possible.

Last but not least, we thank God for making it all possible

"Everyday the Lord added" Acts 2 vs 47

Acts 2:47 - ...praising God, and enjoying the good will of all people. And every day the Lord added to their group those who were being saved.

From the 11th of October till the 23 of October we were privileged to have Ken Rout with us for the seminar on house churches. Twenty one members of the church attended the seminar who are now involved in nine cell groups.
We have already began to see new families in the cell groups as well as in Sunday Ministry, we are thankful to the Lord.

Aberto

The Lord has touched Aberto is no longer in the wheel chair

Maria

Commitment to the great commandment and great commission goes hand in hand with GOOD WORKS. Good works must demonstrate God’s care and bring happiness in the lives of people being ministered to. In March 2008 we were blessed with two wheelchairs from Medical Missionary News, one for Alberto and another one for Maria. Maria is a believer baptised two years ago while Arbeto is still searching, please pray for him.

Dear Beloved of God

Greetings from Maputo, in the Saviour’s name the Lord Jesus Christ. “Behold, I send an angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not, for my name is in him. But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak: then I WILL BE AN ENEMY UNTO THINE ENEMIES, AND AN ADVERSARY UNTO THINE ADVERSARIES” Ex.23:20-22.

December
We longed for December to come, and finally it appeared. Decem
ber is the only long school holiday when we are together for six to seven weeks. Shula who has been working hard with the orphans, will be finishing her first degree in community development this year. Mumba will be doing second year in marketing, Katongo goes for Hotel management, while Twatasha will be doing grade 11.

We can not under estimate what the Lord is able to do amongst his people who love him.
December holiday club planned and supervised by Shula was a blessing. We had 110 children, 20 volunteers, four from U.S.A, sixteen young people from our Assembly. The volunteers were on fire for the Lord. We had remarkable moments; great food, games, teaching, plays, singing just to mention a few things. We are thankful to the Lord for your support; each child received a T. shirt, school bag, pencil case and toiletries. Thank you again for your hand of giving.

t-shirts where made by Grace and 16 year old Benilda, they made 110 t-shirts in a week!!!

Thanksgiving Sunday.
30th December was arranged that believers in our Lord Jesus should give anything to the Lord in appreciation for what the Lord has blessed them with in the year 2007. It was a tim
e when old women could express there joy as they gave. From the little they have in life they gave, we saw rice, sugar, coconuts, material just to mention a few things that where given. We thank Him who is worthy of our praise who moved our hearts that we should Honour him with whatever we have.
